Re: weird feedback coil?
Hi, If you get it to null out the drive coil over the entire frequency range and are able to prove that it is really picking up the armature motion like in the video, you will need to run an open loop frequency and phase plot to determine if you can just sum it or if you will need some form of loop...

Re: Looking to buy a mono cutterhead (also, how much should I expect to pay?)
Have a look here, new to the market, loud plug and play stereo heads compatible with Prestos and small lathes. https://www.instagram.com/p/C5G4WfRsbLh/?igsh=MXg3dWZ1ZDdzaHB6dg== Not to go too far off topic, but ive tried to find info on these heads. Is there a webpage? There's a facebook page where...

Re: weird feedback coil?
Well, I got one on the way.
Now, is it as simple as summing the signal back?

Re: weird feedback coil?
I was thinking the same thing. Not only are the other RCA heads pretty good and this one probably the same, i think itd be a better idea to swap dampening materials for a desired effect rather then heat the dampening material.
I still play around though see if this is a heater

Re: weird feedback coil?
Hi, I'm wondering if it is a heater and thermostat combination to keep the damping material at a constant durometer so that is better controls the resonance of the head. Just a guess. Mark That makes more sense then a feedback coil. I wish they built it a little better. I went to solder new wires t...

weird feedback coil?
So i got this RCA head with a weird coil and what looks to be a reed switch behind the armature dampening. This looks to be some kind of homebrew.
Anybody seen anything like this? Know what it is?

I did an exploded view of the webster head. The rubber dampening will go up top under the two rubber dampening tabs

any info on a Haeco G-100 cutting amp?
Does anybody have anything on this guy? I can find absolutely nothing. Nada. Sweet f.a. Looks like howard holzer built it himself. Definitely not a production unit by the cuts in the chassis for the components and the hardware used. This thing is weird, and gonna need some love. A schemo would be sw...

Re: Webster cutterhead manual, schematic diagrams anything
Hello sir!
I don't have any schematics, but i have 2 webster heads that are built and one is confirmed working. I can give you up close photos of the internal workings

Re: Presto 8dg refurb. (Lathe porn)
It's been awhile. I failed less then before......sorta. my grooves are way too deep and my l.p.i. motor slipped towards the center of the disk. I changed to embossing because I think it's where I should have started all along as others had suggested. My thoughts are, not enough heat on the pvc and t...

Re: Presto 8dg monster fuse removal
Welp. I blew my last fuse, so I've moved to a circuit breaker. I guess there's a stray 6vac on my chassis someplace because the ground lug i had disconnected tapped the frame and shot the fuse. When i measured it it had 6vac on it somehow.
Off to the multimeter i suppose

Re: Need Help and Direction for Building a Lathe
I kinda toyed with this idea, it's WAY WAY WAY on the back burner for me. But id get a nice dj deck as the platter and some sort of overhead if i was new. Thatd be the quickest d.i.y. way in i would think. Something like a rok overhead. Unless you wanted to really build it from scratch. Then your ta...

In the meantime, I wonder if you could belt sand the shaft collar you do have down enough to work.

Re: Quiet Cutter Amp Advice
You could also chop in a cheap fan controller. I put one in my suction box to control the 4 fans I have cooling the motor and it works pretty good. Each fan now has individual control and the box has an internal temperature readout.

Re: Quiet Cutter Amp Advice
The fans in those amps are probably pc case fans I'm guessing. They make silent running fans as replacements and a handful of them are pretty suprising. If you're really lucky they just plug into the pcb with a connector. Also if they mount to the case itself you can replace the screws with a type o...

Re: Presto 8dg monster fuse removal
Cool channel (Junkyard Studio)! Looking forward to Part 2 of the Presto video. Thanks! I have it half filmed right now. I'm trying to get faster at videos but i tend to work on 4 things at a time. I need to focus more on one or two, but sometimes it's refreshing and helps clear the mind to jump betw...
