Re: Sticky residue on Apollo Dubs

I have been having major problems with rippling in the 14" master lacquers from Apollo for the last couple of months. They have been cool about taking them back and sending me new ones to replace, but I keep getting bad ones. The latest box has been all bad so far, I stopped after checking 10 and am...

3/4 inch clear plastic tubing? That's what I've been using but it's a lot of trouble, I have to clean it out after every side I cut because it clogs up. Do you have a brand name or any more specifics on what works well for you? thanks.

suction tubing for VMS70

I have searched this site but haven't been able to come up with a solid answer. I need suction tubing for the VMS70 that I have been working on. J6 in the manual, about 3 feet long. I don't know what size to get specifically and what is the best kind. I've seen the link for surgical tubing but can s...

OK thanks. I have the manual and read the part that opcode quoted from. I'll look at it again. As far as changing the end stop, I'm just looking to get a little more real estate for the runout groove. I have to scribe a fairly long message each time and it's like writing a paragraph on a grain of ri...

I got it to work. I cut a 45 rpm with material that was 2 minutes long. I cut another at 33/13 that was 3:35. I will update after it is plated and test pressed. It was a real challenge but it was fun making it fit and trying to make it sound as good as possible. My first question would be is there a...

I would love to hear what Al Grundy said about the Tracing Simulator and how it functions. Probably a broad question, but what can you tell us about it?

cutting master lacquer for 5" disc

I have a request to cut a master lacquer for a 5" disc. Any suggestions on the best way to do this? I am cutting on a Neumann VMS 70. The end product will be a type of flexi post card I think.

recycling old lacquers

Larry Nix told me that back in the day they used to return blown lacquers, lacquers used for test cuts etc. to the manufacturers for credits on future orders. Does anyone know if this is still done and if so what kind of credit to expect or ask for?
