Re: Are there any UK based peeps who would help with lathe p
I havent got a clue about the technical process of cutting OK - I'm not sure where you're coming from technically and how much you already know. So I'll definitely suggest you use the resources in the Reference Archive http://www.lathetrolls.com/viewforum.php?f=8 . There's lots to read and it may s...

Most on here can and will offer lots of general cutting advice.
But if you need specifics then we could do with knowing what type of 'full ready to cut lathe and accessories' you may be buying

Re: T560 Riaa Unit damaged out circuit help!!
Hi Filipe, If you're using a DAW then I'd apply the RIAA curve with an EQ plug-in and avoid having to route your audio path through the VR main unit altogether. Depends on how your set up is wired of course but it would probably improve your signal too. Basically, cut some white or pink noise at aro...

Not cheap but superb quality.
Steven should be able to tell you the geometry of the shank too if you ask him nicely

Sounds to me as though your cutting stylus is damaged.
What does the groove look and sound like if you just cut an unmodulated groove (i.e. no audio)?

+1
Being someone who's used various MyShank blanks, diamonds and even his labels(!), I'd like to say that Steven offers both a fantastic product and service which can't be beaten.
Thanks.

Re: VinylRecorder Groove speed motor noise through record
At the risk of repeating myself, could you let me know what current (Amps) your new PSU is rated for please?
i.e. the one which now feeds power to your main unit's iRIAA/EQ circuits.
Thanks in advance

Hmm... your son not letting you get much sleep these days huh?The Shank wrote:Tomorrow I can record my son creaming to 22khz on my iphone, everybody won't care.
Still, he has a fine pair of lungs/vocal chords if he can hit 22kHz that might even shatter your iPhone screen if you did attempt to record him!

Re: Great interview with Pete Lyman
This is fantastic! Great to hear so much insight from an experienced pro. Following on from something Pete talked about, if you can't afford the top-end gear like the Maselec MPL-2 or Etac DBTL, has anybody any recommendations for alternatives for HF limiting please? For example, what plugins do you...

Re: VinylRecorder Groove speed motor noise through record
Hi David,
Could you let us know what load figures you came up with to power the RIAA and EQ circuits please?
I admit that other user's main units may differ and so may have different power needs, but it'd give us a place to start.
Thanks

I recently fitted my VR's Technics 1210 deck with a Rega RB202 tone arm.
It pivots all the way to the centre spindle and a couple of inches further too!
Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I thought I'd mention it all the same
