No you still need the 'normal amp' as this is the Power Amp which drives the cutting head's main coils.
The 'feedback amp' is really just a pre-amp which mixes the cutting head's feedback coils back into the main signal path.

So, in summary, you need both.

Having looked at the specs again, the wow & flutter seems pretty high compared with the other turntables on the market. I wonder how much we can trust how each manufacturer came by its figures! Personally, I don't think we can class the upcoming Denon VL12 Prime in the same 'OEM' bracket as most of the other Hanpin-manufactured models. I'd start with adjusting the cutting angle and cutting weight.
Sounds like a silly question be I assume that the diamond is of decent quality (i.e. MyShank) and not damaged?

I managed to grab a physical copy of vol.1 whilst I was still learning the basics and it taught me just about all I needed to get started.
