Hey Stevie This is an answer both to your posts and to your PM First of all, the fact that we've cut that pop LP with the Vinylrecorder does NOT mean that the Vinylrecorder is the best and most versatile system in the world... as I wrote, it was just that we had to deliver the stuff and we needed it...

Hey Stevie, Jtransition is right about the Neumann lathes. You will probably spend a bit more, but don't think they might be rugged or bad kept. The Neumann lathes are usually owned by professional cutters and kept very well. They might be expensive for shipping and fixing, but you can be sure that ...

SC99 is a cutterhead and cuts also on the 7" turntable of my son! Look your PM to see how to fix the VC200 and the SC99 to another lathe. About turntables, every time you have to deal with a belt or a pulley you can expect some issues; even if you have much torque. Only if you are synchronizing a be...

It is rather complex, even if possible, to fix the Vinylium's stuff to other system. For example, the VC200 won't start without its overhead mechanics, unless you use a dummy motor and of course another lathe. As for the turntables, I am sorry but the BEST turntables to use without an external motor...

This is going to be an interesting topic, even if a bit off-topic... Anyway: - we usually cut Souri's discs with an almost flat (0°) angle of the diamond, just like DMM, and lacquers with an angle of 15° - about using Souri's diamonds with the SC-99, never tried... because usually I use that cutterh...

Mastering suite for Vinylrecorder and other lathes

Hi all! Well for anyone who can be interested, we have created a little software mastering suite which is specific for Souri's Vinylrecorder but can be used for any cuttinglathe. Basically it does what you usually would do with some gear for mastering, elliptical eqs, etc. Analog freaks will horrify...
