Re: Any small run pressing plants in the USA?
That's literally on discmakers website.. but going through a broker is stupid if you can get in to the line of one of those two places.. honestly would rather have home made "USA"

Re: Any small run pressing plants in the USA?
Oz, I haven't had records pressed since the 90's.. I used 5,000 bc that's the maximum the overseas plants will handle.. figured if one was to want that many URP would take care of it

Any small run pressing plants in the USA?
Seems like if you want to get small runs of records pressed your only options are really going with Eastern European countries through a broker... There's like a million brokers but they all go through the same three plants.. you can tell by the basic pricing structure and s*** even discmakers are b...

It's been a long time
Hello everybody! I'm finally back, I got hit with a train of multiple sclerosis.. although I will never be back on my feet I am starting to feel better.. I'm no longer able to cut records and since sold my Presto.. I'm interested however in how things progressed in the years that I've been occupied..

Re: WTB Lathe-Seeking Advice + Knowledge [+ crucial digressi
It is my understanding that, for this, I would want a presto or Rek-O-kut lathe. It is also my understanding that the resulting sound quality will be laughable at best this is completely untrue.. you can get a great sound from a presto... used it for many club cuts "dubplates" during the past coupl...

Re: my "new" radiotone machines
thanks man.. i agree, for what i want to do these machines seem like a better candidate.. the patter is smaller than the presto, but a 14" disc will fit.. I'm going to have to design a head mounting system for a caruso, but it shouldn't be that difficult.. the chain drive makes it easy to add the te...

Re: Building a console for a Presto 6N
steve, I was going to use a kitchen sink cabinet and a nice hard wood counter top... sink cabinets are built stronger, and if your lucky you can find a steel "geneva" one from the 60's..

Re: 'A High Accuracy Inverse RIAA Network' by S.L & W.J
i built it, and tested it.. sounds amazing.. only thing i changed was this: i switched the 604ohm resistor on the output with a 60.4kohm resistor.. it raises the output level about 10dbu, and i plan to add a 1:4 transformer to raise the level even more and to provide isolation.. that way i have a ho...

Re: tone arm for presto 6N
i'm pretty sure a 16" arm would be to large.. you only need <8" to play a 16" disc, since you only read off of half of it.. tragwag: can you measure the tone arm from the base to the end to give me a better approximation? those audax arms look heavy, and to be honest I'd like something more in line ...

tone arm for presto 6N
I'm currently in the market for a tone arm to fit the original mounting holes in the 6N's frame.. I am not sure what the length of the tone arm needs to be (guessing 12").. i'm more interested in a modern design that can use a modern cartridge.. Not really looking for an Astatic, Gray or Audax tone ...
