that's the thing mike, i explained to him that weight and anti-skate adjustments may possibly need to be made - also if he is using an old or dull stylus - like what you had going on at first. it's not a pressed record, its an intimate listening experience only a handful of people in the entire worl...

Be polite. Be firm. I'd ask him to send them back so you can check them out. If he pitches a fit about shipping costs (which it sounds like he will) then I'd offer him a break to get rid of him. He'll probably feel like he got over and go away. I wouldn't worry about a crank spewing vitriol. It's p...

what about the serrated marking before the label on the capitol / warner pressings? the link you posted mentioned there are 360 of them on a record but no other mention about it.

oh, one more too

is the real hard and easily crackable material they used to press 7"s in the late 70s thru the 80s here in the US made of the same material that nice pressed records are? i doubted it but i figured i'd ask anyways. in the light it sometimes had a reddish tint to it.

UK 7"s and Capitol / Warner Bros. US 7"s : How Did

crazy question but 1) how do UK 7" pressings get the label logos, text and credits pushed into the center for the labels and the standard copyright info embossed out on the inner trail of wax? and 2) in the 70s both Capitol and Warner Bros. 7"s amongst a few other labels, had this crazy ridged cente...

They also can put a hold on your account. I started selling some of my record collection on eBay a couple weeks ago and since I'm selling rarer bits and made a lot of money quick they sent me an email saying the money from my sold items will be held for 21 days or until the buyer receives their pack...

Not sure if its a different one.
It's a different one, this one is a non feedback head but it's guts are gone so you would need to know what's inside a type c in order to make what's needed to make it fire up again. Kinda risky unless it goes for little to nothing.

yeah, i can vouch for this one - its gorgeous and horizontal mountable which is the main reason i sent it back. beautiful condition though and came from a legend in the garage rock times. that grampian on the bay was open and missing the wick and screw - i'm not trying to spend $800 and 6 months of ...

Re: dub

I wonder how many time is possible to playback a dub that is been cutted with a ruby stylus, mono head. The Dub himself come from Apollo, and I cutted with my lathe, sound nice but for how long? Depends on how heavy handed you are, what tracking force you are playing back with, how old your stylus ...

Power Amp Recommendations for Presto 1C

Hey guys

I'm looking for another crown amp to run this 1c I have but wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations as to a similar good sounding / working amp that won't break my pockets and I can find fairly easy as I want to get this third lathe cutting this week.

Any help is appreciated
