Direct Cut Discs in the USA ??
Hello- I cut discs myself, but nothing to the quality as the pros, it's great for experimental lofi, but my band is really looking to get our ep cut on a limited run of records. Looking for cutters rather than pressings. Is there anyone out there besides the great Peter King who does the same kind o...

How do I emboss
Hello- I've been cutting on old acetates, experimenting, and I do already know the difference between cutting and embossing, yet I do not know how to emboss... I know that this technique can save needles, especially if one is cutting on anything besides acetate... Is it just turning the needle aroun...

sure, shave on! But the thing is, old 45's are very thin already. They are old now, so they get brittle. Youd have to be able to shave them down just enough to get the old media erased. Also, you will have a ton of background noise. Unused Laquers look very shiny because they are smooth on top, with...

So, Flozski! Could you post some pictures of your $1 lathe, with the printer parts! That would be great! If you can remember what type of motor you replaced the one that comes with the printer, that slows it down to make a lenghty record ( all of 5 minutes a side would even be a miracle!) Thanks so ...

hey flozki! thanks for your reply! so what you are saying is that the motor that moves the ink jet, moves too fast? Ok, in that case, the motor should be replaced with what kind of motor? Also, when you susspend this over a turntable, how much pressure should the cutting head have on the blank disk?...

Make a Lathe out of a printer!!! Yay!
Ok, so I checked out the DIY lathe on youtube, and noticed this user who wrote that they were planning on building a lathe, using a printer! I asked the user more in depth instructions, and here is what they sent me. It was informed to me that I was allowed to tell others this information, so here i...
